KABUL (Pajhwok): Pakistan special representative for Afghanistan ambassador Mohammad Sadiq says Higher Education Commission of Pakistan will be offering specialized programs to train over 300 faculty members of Afghanistan’s public and private universities.

In a tweet, the special envoy said a proposal was being submitted to the Ministry of Higher Education of  Afghanistan (MoHE) in this regard.

He said nominations for the scholarships will be made by the Afghanistan Ministry of Higher Education. Training of the first batch of 30 faculty members will be arranged at NUST Islamabad. The program is aimed at capacity building of Afghan academia, he said.

The Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan is yet to say anything about the offer.

In July this year, 28 teachers from different government universities of Afghanistan were trained in Islamabad University of Science and Technology.
