FAIZABAD (Pajhwok): An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter Scale hit Faizabad City, the capital of northeastern Badakhshan province, early on Tuesday, an official said.
Information and Cultural Affairs Director Muizuddin Ahmadi said the earthquake jolted Badakhshan province early morning at 3:50 am.
Ahmadi said that Sheghnan district was the center of the 5.1 magnitude quake.
He said by this time there were no report about casualties and other financial losses caused by the earthquake.
