KABUL (Pajhwok): The Media Violation and Complaint Assessment Commission (MVCAC) on Wednesday urged the government to ratify the Mass Media Law.
The panel also asked all institutions to deal with media-related issues through this commission.
The11-member commission started functioning on August 23 under the supervision of Information Minister Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa.
According to Bakhtar News Agency, MVCAC has held its third meeting under the leadership of Hayatullah Mohajir Farahi, assistant director of broadcast and publication at the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA), also attended the meeting, which some media violations were addressed and necessary instructions issued.
Participants underlined the ratification of the Mass Media Law, saying it was the need of the hour.
Mujahid has already said the Mass and Social Media Laws will be reviewed and sent through the Ministry of Information to the supreme leader of IEA for ratification.
All media outlets were urged to follow their complaints through the MVCAC.
