KABUL (Pajhwok): The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) has hailed Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's proposal for the creation of an international group to deal with the country’s myriad problems.
Suhail Shaheen, who heads the IEA’s political office in Doha, Suhail Shaheen, commended efforts for the lifting of sanctions on Afghanistan.
TOLOnews quoted Shaheen as saying: “We appreciate efforts of every country, notably recent remarks of the president of Uzbekistan…”
Mirziyoyev proposed the establishment of an international group on Afghanistan at the 6th CICA Summit Astana in Astana.
He said: “In order to achieve a broad consensus on Afghan issues, we suggest considering the possibility of Asian countries jointly addressing the UN General Assembly…”
