KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghan Railway Authority (ARA) on Saturday said 90,000 metric tons of commercial goods were imported to the country via railroads and over 1,100 tons of goods exported to other countries last week.
ARA on its twitter handle said: “During the course of last week over 91,000 metric tons of commercial good were transferred via railways”.
About 73,108 metric tons of goods were imported to the country via Hairatan port, 3,300 metric tons via Aqina port and 13,728 metric tons through Torghundi port while 1,159 tons of goods were exported through the mentioned ports to other countries.
ARA added that its officials were trying to provide more facilities to traders.
The authority said exports and imports jumped by 22 percent during the past six months.
During the last six months, 1.7 million tons of good were imported and over 158,000 tons of good were exported and 1.4bn afs revenue submitted to the national kitty.
