Obstacle to his 2nd marriage, Kandahar man kills son

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): A man killed his 35-year-old son after he opposed his second marriage in southern Kandahar province.

Haji Zaid, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place in Rawani village of Dand district last night.

“Last night a father killed his son in Rawani village of the district because the son was against his second marriage. The killer has been detained by security forces.”

Ahmad Nabi, a resident of the area, also said a man beheaded his son as a result of a dispute over the father’s second marriage.

“The father wanted to marry for second time but his son opposed his decision and he killed the son,” he added.

Two weeks ago, a man killed his three sons in the Karezak area of the district. Officials had said the accused suffered from mental problems, but the father confessed to killing his sons due to economic hardships.
