KABUL (Pajhwok): The Ministry of Energy and Water (MoEW) has signed the technical studies contract of Kandahar’s Lowrai Dam with Afghan Invest and Imran Geotechnical Companies, according to a statement on Wednesday.
The contract was inked on Tuesday by Acting Energy and Water Minister Abdul Latif Mansour and representatives of the two companies, the source said.
The contract of technical studies of Lawari Dam -- situated in the Arghistan district will cost four million afs.
The construction of Lowrai Dam will help irrigate thousands of hectares of barren land and generate electricity.
