Afghanistan set to take on England in Super-12 match

KABUL (Pajhwok): Afghanistan and England are poised to meet in the second match of T20 World Cup’s Super 12 stage in Perth today (Saturday).

Having secured an automatic Super-12 spot this time around, Afghanistan had finished seventh in the last edition of the T20 World Cup.

The national squad, looking forward to booking a berth in semi-final, will have to do something out of the ordinary to outplay England.

Afghanistan are placed in a group involving giants like Australia, New Zealand and England teams they have been unable to defeat so far.

On the other hand, in the build-up to the World Cup, England have romped home in 10 of the 21 T20s they played this yea.

In today’s encounter, Afghanistan’s spinners need to exhibit their mojo to contain England’s batting firepower. The Afghans will also have to improve their fielding and batting standards significantly.
