TRINKOT (Pajhwok): A religious scholars meeting in central Uruzgan province stressed over ban on wrong traditional practices and asked masses to play their role in this regard.

The gathering was held in the Department of Hajj and Religious Affairs which was attended by religious scholars and common people.

Religious Scholar Mufti Abdullah Rabbani told the gathering religious scholars should tell the people to stop doing wrong practices that created gap between common people and the Islamic Emirate.

He said with the takeover of new government wrong practices and unfair activities had declined 90pc and stressed more work was needed to bring down this percentage to zero.

Another Religious Scholar Mawlavi Rahimullah said ulema role was vital and greater in creating a fair and stable society.

Mawlavi Attaullah Khadem, head of the Uruzgan Religious Affairs Department, said religious scholars had the right to stand against wrong practices and acts against the teaching of Islam.

He said: “Promoting the sprite of Islam among people will strengthen the Islamic system, adding that Islamic system that were brought up with financial support and lacked sprite felt down one after another.”

He asked ulema that besides raising their voices against wrong practices, ulema should encourage people to support the Islamic Emirate.

It is worth mentioning that in the past several similar gathering had been held to support the Islamic Emirate.
