FEROZKOH CITY (Pajhwok): Road accidents left about 1,400 people wounded and four persons dead during the past seven months in western Ghor province, an official said on Tuesday.
Dr. Abdul Ahmad Noori, head of Ghor provincial hospital, told Pajhwok Afghan News that the hospital’s figures showed 1,400 people wounded in traffic accidents were brought to the hospital. Besides the injured, four dead bodies were also delivered.
Noori added 1,225 of the wounded were men, 155 were women, 45 were boys and 31 girls. He said all the four fatalities were men.
Mohammad Hamas, information and culture department director, blamed recklessness of drivers, over speeding and rundown condition of roads for the accidents.
He said the government had some plans to asphalt roads to prevent such accidents. He urged all drivers to drive carefully.
