New cooking oil, cotton processing factories opened in Lashkargha

KABUL (Pajhwok): New cotton and cooking oil factories start production in Lashkargah, the capital of southern Helmand province, an official said on Friday.

Helmand Chamber of Commerce Director Ghulam Yahya Pashton told Pajhwok Afghan News the factory was capable of processing three tonnes of raw materials in one hour.

The factory deputy director Mohammad Haleem Amini said the factory was constructed in six months at the cost of $500. Up to 100 people would get job opportunities in the factory, he added.
