KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of Malaysian cooking oil and Arabian gold decreased, with rates of essential items staying unchanged during the outgoing week in Kabul, market sources said on Sunday.
Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Union, told Pajhwok Afghan News the price of a 16-litre tin of Malaysian cooking oil fell from 1,900afs to 1,850afs.
He said the wholesale price of a 49-kilogram bag of Indian sugar stood at 3,000afs, a 24.5-kilogram sack of Pakistani rice at 3,000afs, one kilogram of African black tea at 400afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea at 350afs --same as last week.
Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in the Dahna-i-Bagh area of Kabul, put the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour at 2,450 afs, a 24-kilogram sack of Pakistani rice at 3,050 afs, a 49 kilograms bag of Indian sugar at 3,050 afs, a 16 litres tin of Malaysian cooking oil at1,900afs, one kilogram of green tea at 400afs and the same quantity of black tea at 450 afs.
Gold price unchanged
Mohammad Javed, a jeweler in the Lycee Maryam market, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold decreased from 3,950afs to 3,900afs, while the rate of the Russian variety remained unchanged at 3,300afs.
Fuel rate also stays stable
According to an employee of the Ahmadyar Group Pump Station, the price of one litre of petrol worked out at 81afs while one litre of diesel remained unchanged at 97afs.
Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kalola Pushta locality, said one kilogram of gas accounted for 60afs.
Currency rates
Haji Hussain, the owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange, said one US dollar accounted for 88afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 370afs.
