KABUL (Pajhwok): Goods worth around $1 billion exported to foreign countries in the past seven months, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) said on Sunday.
Jawad Dabir, the ministry’s public relation director, on his Twitter handle wrote: “These goods had been exported to Pakistan, Tajikistan and India.”
Goods worth over $743 exported to Indian, $207 million exported to Tajikistan, and over $32 million exported to Tajikistan.
Abdul Salaam Jawad, spokesperson for the MoCI, said the exported items included coal, pine nuts, cotton, tomatoes, onion, handicraft and different types of dried fruits.
He did not say how much export took place during the same time last year.
Expert say government should pay greater attention to export to reach self-economic reliance and used available economic opportunities and establish new economic linkages.
