KABUL (Pajhwok): The Moscow format meeting on Afghanistan is scheduled to be held on November 16 (next Wednesday), Russia special representative for Afghanistan says.
Representatives from Russia, China, India, Iran, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will participate in the Moscow meeting.
Zamir Kabulov said a few days ago that Moscow would host a consultative meeting on Afghanistan, but no Taliban representative has been invited.
In reaction, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan said the discussions about Afghanistan in Russia would be incomplete without the representatives of the Islamic Emirate.
The ministry spokesman, Abdul Qahar Balkhi, wrote on his Twitter: “Fortunately, Afghanistan has now an independent, responsible and legitimate government, which has effectively ensured security in the entire country. Our borders with neighbors are secure and we have a positive interaction with the world in political, economic and security areas. Non-participation of the Afghan government in such meetings can have a negative impact on the interaction.”
