KABUL (Pajhwok): England on Sunday won the final of the T20 World Cup beating Pakistan by five wickets in Melbourne, Australia.
England captain Jos Butler won the toss and invited Pakistan to bat first on a wicket that was helpful for bowling.
English bowlers did not allow Pakistani batsmen to free their arms and hit big shots. The Pakistani side was restricted to 137 runs in the loss of 8 wickets.
Sam Curran bowled magnificently and took 4 wickets conceding 12 runs in his four overs.
Chasing 137, English bowlers faced tough time from the Pakistani bowlers due to the fall of wickets at regular intervals, but Ben Stokes 52 runs and Butler’s quick 26 runs in the power play helped the English side chase the target.
