MEHTHARLAM (Pajhwok): Construction work on two projects worth 55 million afghanis has been launched and a clean water supply scheme costing 12m afs put into service in eastern Laghman province.
Maulvi Salamat Khan, the governor’s spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News that construction work on two water heads was launched with 55 million afghanis financial support of the World Food Programme (WFP) in the Alishang district.
The projects will take nine months to complete and about 600 people are provided with work opportunity.
Khan also said a clean drinking water supply network was put into service in the same district.
The UNICEF-funded water network consumed 12 million afghanis and would supply clean drinking water to 553 families.
