KABUL (Pajhwok): The Supreme Court says 21 people, including six women, were convicted and punished publicly for different crimes by the primary court of Kabul on Thursday.
The Supreme Court tweeted the convicts, including 15 men and six women, were punished today in Kabul city.
The criminals were punished on the charges of adultery, robbery, elopement and drinking alcohol. They were punished in the presence of court officials and officials of other provincial institutions and the general public.
Mufti Atiqullah Darwish, general director of the criminal court of Kabul, said that Islam had provided unique laws and principles for humanity in every aspect of life.
He said orders, duties, provisions, limits, retribution and punishments in Islam were a mercy for humanity and the Ummah and security and peace could be maintained in the society by applying these punishments.
