Kabul attacks widely condemned

KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Afghan government, former president Hamid Karzai, Abdullah Abdullah, UNAMA, Iran, Japan, Turkey and some others have condemned armed attack on Pakistani embassy and on office of the Hizb-e-Islami Afghanistan (HIA) in capital Kabul.

One security personnel was killed and three others injured in armed attack on HIA Office in Kabul on Friday, Separately one Pakistani security personnel was injured in attack on Pakistani embassy in Kabul yesterday.

Mawlavi Abdul Kabir, political aide of the ‘Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’ (IEA), condemned attack on HIA office and assured that efforts would be made to thwart such attacks in the future.

Former President Hamid Karzai’s Office also condemned attack on Hekmatyar’s office and said attacks on the people and leaders of Afghanistan were amid at to weaken the country and harmed the unity of the people.

Karzai also denounced attack on Pakistan embassy and said cordial ties between Afghanistan and Pakistan were vital for the regional stability.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, former head of the High Council for National Reconciliation, also condemned that attacks and said: “Attacks on political leaders, mosques and education centers have no justification.”

Dr. Umar Dawodzai, former Afghan ambassador to Pakistan, Abdul Karim Khurram, former chief of staff of President Karzai, Fazal Hadi Muslimyar, former Chairman Senate were the other individuals who condemned Friday attacks.

UNAMA, US, Japan, Turkey condemned attacks

UNAMA condemned the attack and on its twitter handle wrote: “The UN Assistance Mission in #Afghanistan strongly condemns today’s attack on the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of #Pakistan in #Kabul. Diplomatic missions are protected under international law. UNAMA wishes a speedy recovery to those injured in the attack.”

Muhajar Farahi, deputy broadcasting head of the Information and Cultural Affairs Ministry, on his Twitter handle wrote: “Recent Kabul attacks are planned to spread insecurity and show Afghanistan as insecure.”

State Department Spokesperson Ned Price condemned the attack and said: “The United States condemns the attack on the Pakistani Embassy in Afghanistan, which targeted the Head of Mission in Kabul Ubaid Nizamani. We wish a quick recovery to those affected by the violence and support calls for a full and transparent investigation”

Turkish Embassy on its Twitter handle wrote condemned the attack and termed as disturbing. The embassy condemned the attack in strong terms.”

Japan also condemned the attack, its Kabul embassy wrote: “We strongly condemn the terrorist attack on the Pakistan Embassy in Kabul. Such a terror cannot be justified for any reasons. We wish a speedy recovery to those injured.”
