FEROZKOH (Pajhwok): A primary court in western Ghor province awarded lashes punishment to seven people, including a woman, in connection to different charges, according to a well-placed source on Saturday.
The source wishing not to be named told Pajhwok Afghan News: “After launch, according to a court decision, five men were hit 39 lashes each for drinking alcohol while one man and a woman were hit 25 lashes each in the presence of people.”
The source said security forces did not allow anyone to film the scene.
Ghor Governor Abdul Wahid Hammas on his Twitter handle wrote that Murafeia Court punished seven people, including a woman, with lashes in connection to alcohol drinking, moral crime and maintaining illicit relationship.
This comes that recently courts awarded lashes punishment to criminals in Kabul and other provinces.
