KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Deputy Minister for Refugees and Repatriation Mawlavi Abdul Rahman Rashid on Saturday lift Kabul for Iran to participate in the upcoming three nations plus UNHCR meeting in neighbouring country.
Talking to reporters at the airport, Rashid said the meeting will discuss matters related to Afghan refugees in Iran and Pakistan and a mechanism may be agreed regarding their repatriation.
He said currently, 2.3 million Afghan refugees lived in Pakistan and as many in Iran.
He added security situation in Afghanistan had improved and Afghan refugees could return to their country and continue a normal life.
Abdul Mutalib Haqqani, spokesperson for the refugees ministry, said the return of Afghan refugees to the county and the facilities the government could provide would be discussed in the meeting.
The meeting will kick start in Iran and would continue for five days.
