KABUL (Pajhwok): The UN Population Fund in Afghanistan (UNFPA) on Thursday said that over 727,000 Afghans have returned from Pakistan and Iran to their country in the past one year.
On its Twitter handle the UNFPA wrote that it was supporting the humanitarian work in zero point camps at the border to provide life-saving health and psychosocial support services for families returning to Afghanistan.
“From Jan-Oct this year, 661,600 Afghans have returned from Iran and 66,300 from Pakistan.
@UNFPA supports humanitarian work in the zero point camps at these borders to provide life-saving health and #psychosocial support services for families returning to #Afghanistan.”
Earlier, the UNFPA on its twitter handle wrote: “The 2023 Humanitarian Response Plan for #Afghanistan estimates that a record 28.3 million people will need humanitarian and protection assistance. @UNFPA stands ready to respond to the maternal health, protection and psychosocial support needs of affected women and girls.”
