DABS recovers above 1.1b afs arrears in 3 months

KABUL (Pajhwok): Da Afghanistan Barishna Shirkat or power utility says it has recovered more than one billion afghanis arrears from government departments and more than 70 million afghanis arrears from politicians and officials of the previous government.

DABS spokesman Hikmatullah Maiwandi told Pajhwok Afghan News: "We recovered 1.1 billion afghanis in unpaid bills from government offices and 70 to 75 million afghanis from politicians and officials of the previous government during the last three months”.

He added government departments and enterprises paid 554.59 million afghanis to the company”.

According to him, so far more than 1.12 billion afghanis have been delivered to the Barishna Company through the Ministry of Finance.

But he did not provide information about whether DABS recovered all its debts from government departments and other consumers.
