KABUL (Pajhwok): The Interim Islamic Emirate (IEA) has reaffirmed its commitment of creating job opportunities for the people.
Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi reiterated the government’s commitment at a meeting with Takhar Governor Zia-ur-Rahman Madani on Saturday.
A number of mujahideen from the northern province also attended the meeting, a statement from the deputy premier’s office said.
The mujahideen would be offered employment and the IEA would do all it could to address people’s problems, primarily the issues facing Takhar residents, he promised.
The governor briefed Hanafi on socio- economic and governance issues in Takhar. He believed the number of security districts in Taloqan was insufficient.
Madani also referred to encroachment on state lands in the provincial capital, illegal forest felling and problems of mujahideen, Amu River pollution and dilapidated roads in Takhar.
Hanafi commended the sacrifices rendered by Takhar people, including the mujahedin, and called creating jobs one of the IEA commitments.
