Afghanistan: China interested in energy, dam projects

KABUL (Pajhwok): The China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) has evinced a keen interest in investing in the construction of water storage dams and executing energy projects in Afghanistan.

Accompanied by technical experts, the CRBC chief met Minister of Energy and Water Abdul Latif Mansoor in Tashkent and expressed China’s interest in such projects in Afghanistan.

According to a statement from the ministry, Mansoor promised providing opportunities for Chinese investors in implementing dam and power projects in Afghanistan.

Currently in Tashkent, Mansoor has held successful talks with Uzbek officials on extending the agreement on electricity supplies to Afghanistan for a year.
