KANDAHR CITY (Pajhwok): Two women, one child have been killed and 13 others, including eight children, have been injured in a traffic accident on Kandahr City-Spinboldak Road in southern Kandahar province, an official said on Tuesday.
Haji Zaid, provincial media wing head, told Pajhwok Afghan News the accident happened as a result of collision between a Fielder type passenger vehicle and a Mazda type truck.
Five elderly persons suffered deep wounds while eight children superficially wounded. Passengers in the Fielder vehicle suffered most losses. The injured were shifted to Mirwais central hospital, he added.
A doctor in the hospital confirmed the number of causalities and five persons suffered serious injuries, he said.
The 100 kilometres two lane road between Kandahar City and Spinboldak was suitable for travel in it is bumpy in some areas.
The provincial officials linked most of the traffic incidents on the highway to high speed driving, carelessness and failure in traffic rules observation.
