JALALABAD (Pajhwok): One Afghan border guard was killed and another wounded after a colleague ‘mistakenly’ opened fire in Torkham township in Momand Dara district of eastern Nangarhar province, officials said on Thursday.
The officials rejected reports circulating on social media that there was a clash between Afghan and Pakistani forces and the Torkham crossing has been closed.
Qari Sajid, Momand Dara district chief, said one Afghan soldier was mistakenly killed and another person was wounded in Torkham by an Afghan border guard.
He said no clash between Afghan and Pakistani forces had taken place and the Torkham gate was open . . .
