KABUL (Pajhwok): UN deputy special representative for Afghanistan Markuz Potzel has said the bans on female education and work for aid agencies will harm all Afghans.
On its Facebook page, UNAMA quoted Potzel as calling for the urgent lifting of the bans in a meeting today with Taliban Minister of Higher Education Mohammed Nadeem.
Without elaborating, he said “Afghanistan is entering a new period of crisis”.
The caretaker government has asked all private and public universities to suspend women’s higher education until further notice before banning women from working in foreign and local NGOs.
