Petrol, flour prices down, diesel & gold up in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of Kazakhstani flour and petrol decreased while that of liquefied gas, diesel and gold surged in Kabul during the outgoing week, market sources said on Saturday.

A worker of Ahmadyar Group of Pump Stations told Pajhwok Afghan News the price of one litre of petrol decreased from 75afs to 73afs this week. But the price of one litre of diesel surged from 91afs to 93afs, he said.

Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in KalolaPushta locality, said one kilogram of the commodity’s price jumped from 62afs to 64afs.

Gold prices surge

The price of one gram of Arabian gold increased from 4,200afs to 4,250afs and the same quantity of the Russian variety from 3,300afs to 3,400afs.

Mohammad Folad, owner of Haji Hamid Salehzad jewelry in Temor Shahee area of Kabul, said gold prices increased compared to last week.

He said the price of one gram of Arabian gold increased from 4,230afs to 4,250afs and the same quantity of the Russian variety from 3,400afs to 3,450afs.

Kazakhstani flour price

Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Union, said the price of a 49-kilogram of Kazakhstani flour bag decreased from 2,200afs to 2,150afs.

He said the price 24.5-kilogram sack of Pakistani rice stood stable at 3,000afs, 49-kilogram bag of Indian sugar at 3,000afs, a 16-litre tin of Malaysian cooking oil 1,800afs, one kilogram of African black tea at 400afs and the same quantity of Indonesian green tea at 350afs.

Hamid Sufizada, a retailer in Dahna-i-Bagh area, said the retail price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour was 2,200 afs, a 24-kilogram sack of Pakistani rice 3,050 afs, a 49 kilograms bag of Indian sugar 3,050 afs, a 16 litres tin of Malaysian cooking oil 1,850afs, one kilogram of green tea 400afs and the same quantity of black tea 450 afs.

Currency

Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange Company, said one US dollar consumed 89.20afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees 350afs.

Last week, one US dollar was traded for 89 afghanis and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 350afs.
