FARAH CITY (Pajhwok): An ex-worker of the Passport Department in western Farah province has been shot dead by unidentified men, a security official said on Sunday.
Maulvi Mohammad Nasim Badr, police spokesman, told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident happened on Saturday afternoon in the Bagh-i-Naw area of the provincial capital.
The victim was identified as Shoaib, an ex-official of the Passport Department during the previous government, Badr said.
Security personnel had detained two suspects in connection with the murder for investigations, the police spokesman added.
Shoaib worked as an ordinary employee of the Passport Department under the previous government, confirmed a neighbour of the victim.
A day earlier, unidentified men killed a tribal elder in the Minari village of Jabalus Saraj district of central Parwan province.
