KABUL (Pajhwok): The Turkish general directorate of migration has deported 477 Afghan refugees during the last one week.
In 2022, approximately 55,502 Afghan nationals had been deported from Turkey and in the most recent case the country deported 277 Afghans, Aamaj news reported.
The Turkish general directorate of migration said it would continue to deport immigrants who lack legal documents including those from Afghanistan.
According to reports, more than 5400 Afghanistan national are detained in border area in Turkey, and they will be deported.
Anadolu Agency reported that 20497 people are stranded at deportation centers in Turkey and Afghanistan nationals who lack legal documents are among them.
In January, Turkish government has detained 1983 illegal migrants, and deported 1028 of them.
