MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A seven-member gang of kidnappers, sexual abusers and robbers has been arrested in northern Balkh province, police said on Thursday.
Deputy police chief Abdul Hai Abid said the seven-member group was involved in sexual assaults on children, adultery and kidnapping.
Abid added the individuals were detained from 1st, 5th, and 6th police districts and their cases had been referred to judiciary.
Police spokesman Mohammad Asif Waziri said 60 individuals have been detained in connection with different crimes by police during the last one month.
He said 20 of the men were detained on theft charges, 15 for selling and smuggling narcotics and some for having links with the “Resistance Front.”
