KABUL (Pajhwok): Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum Sheikh Shahabuddin Delawar has underlined the need for launching practical work on the TAPI gas pipeline project.
He underlined the imperative of speeding up the scheme’s implementation at a meeting with Amanov, executive chairman of TAPI.
A statement from the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum said the two sides conferred on other issues of mutual interest, particularly the start of practical work on TAPI project.
Amanov welcomed support from the Islamic Emirate and efforts by the Ministry of Mines for the early execution of the scheme.
The visiting official stressed Afghanistan of continued cooperation with Afghanistan, the statement added.
At the meeting, views were exchanged on the signing of a a tripartite land acquisition agreement among the Ministries of Mines, Agriculture and the TAPI gas distribution company. Gas supplies to industrial parks and residents of Herat also came up for discussion.
