52.5 acres grabbed land retrieved in Zabul

KALAT (Pajhwok): Over 50 acres of state grabbed land had been retrieved in southern Zabul province so far, an official said on Wednesday.

Mawlavi Attaullah Rashid, Agriculture Director and head of the Grabbed Lands Commission, said until now 52.5 acres of grabbed land had been retrieved in Kalat, the provincial capital, and some districts.

He said the process of retrieving grabbed state land was underway and in a fresh move 15,000 acres grabbed land had been retrieved in the Shah-i-Safa district.

According to Rashid no arrest had been made in connection to land grabbing, adding that in the future if anyone tried to grab land will be punished in line with the law.

Deputy Director Justice Department, Mawlavi Mohammad Mohammadi, said efforts were on to spread awareness among people to refrain them from land grabbing.
