KABUL (Pajhwok): New banknotes are being supplied to commercial banks across the country, the government says.
Da Afghanistan Bank acknowledged on Wednesday its obligation to inject fresh banknotes into the market and collect worn-out bills.
While releasing new banknotes into the market, the central bank urged people to hand over the old bills to the authorities concerned.
In a statement, DAB said it had supplied new banknotes worth 100 million afs to commercial banks and collected from them bills of 10, 20, 50 and 100 afghani denominations.
