TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): A man has been killed in a a mortar shell explosion in central Uruzgan province, an official said on Thursday.
Deputy police chief Maulvi Aminullah told Pajhwok Afghan News the incident took place on Wednesday when Ezatullah, a resident of Khanaqa area, wanted to bring down the wall of his house.
He said an unexploded mortar shell hidden in the wall went off and Ezatullah lost his life to the blast.
Pashtun, the victim’s brother of, said the area had previously been a battleground and many unexploded shells remained there.
