JAWZJAN (Pajhwok): Some residents of the Qush Tepa and Darzab districts in northern Jawzjan province have complained against none-availability of electricity when the power cables supplying electricity from Turkmenistan to Balkh and Sar-i-Pul provinces go through these areas.
They raised their electricity related complaints at time when local officials pledged to find a reasonable way to resolve this problem.
Mohammadulah, the resident of Darzab district, said absence of electricity was not a new problem for them, but it had been going on for years.
“Although we repeatedly complained about the non-existence of electricity to concerned authorities, but the issue was not addressed at all. The past regime officials always neglected our issue on the pretext of conflicts between Daesh militants’ government forces in the districts,” he added.
According to him: “it has been two years since the past government has tumbled, but we are still suffering from this issue and the Islamic Emirate has not paid attention to it either; we have shared the problem with the interim government authorities as well.”
Similarly Burhanuddin, a resident of Qush Tepa district, complained about lack of electricity and urged the caretaker government to take action in this regard.
He added: “We want the local officials to solve our energy problem.”
Ustad Mohammad Mojahid, the governor’s chief of staff, said: “We informed about lack of electricity in Qush Tepa and Darzab districts and are struggling to find a proper solution to their problem.”
Local officials have requested the central government for installation of electricity transformers and establishment of power network in the districts and actions would be taken after making necessary decisions and issuance of order in this regard.
