KUNDAZ CITY (Pajhwok): A taekwondo championship to select best athletes for international competitions rolled into action in northern Kunduz province on Monday.
The participating players welcome the launch of the event and hoped for more such competitions in future.
Mohammad Ibrahim Hakimi, director of taekwondo federation, told Pajhwok Afghan News that 65 players in three groups were taking part in the championship.
He added the purpose of the event was to support athletes and select good players for international events.
Mohammad Rashid Sakhizada, a player, said: “We want more such tournaments to identify best players for international competitions.”
