KABUL (Pajhwok): The Afghanistan Railway Authority (ARA) on Saturday says more than 54000 metric tons of goods were exported and imported through the country’s railroads during the past one week.
ARA wrote on its Facebook page that from January 26 till February 2, a total of 54,000 and 301 metric tons of commercial goods were imported and exported through the railways.
It said 27635 tons of goods transported through Turghondi railway track, 21689 tons through Hairaton railway line and 4977 metric tons through Aqina railway.
The goods included 6187 tons of exports, mostly dried fruits.
However, the ARA did not say what kind of goods were imported and from which countries.
The Railway Authority said they were trying to provide more facilities to traders in transportation of their goods.
