ATLANTA (Pajhwok): Afghanistan’s ex- ambassador to the United States has been invited to attend President Joe Biden's State of the Union address on Tuesday, says a media report.
Roya Rahmani, Afghanistan's first woman ambassador to the US, has been invited by House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul, according to Reuters.
Roya held the diplomatic position from December 2018 until July 2021. Her presence “will send a signal to the women of Afghanistan that they have not been forgotten”, McCaul hoped
Biden’s State of the Union speech to a joint session of Congress is seen as an informal start to next year’s presidential campaign.
