KABUL (Pajhwok): More than 2,350 people were killed and many more wounded on Monday when a massive earthquake rattled southeastern Turkey and neighbouring Syria.
Al-Jazeera reported 1,541 deaths in Turkey and 810 fatalities in Syria as a result of the predawn quake, followed by scores of aftershocks.
Earlier, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Assistance (OCHA) said 255 people were killed and 811 injured in rebel-controlled areas of Syria.
The toll in government-held areas of Syria mounted to 245 dead and more than 630 injured.
