PESHAWAR (Pajhwok): Secondary and university education for Afghan women will resume once the system is reformed, says an Islamic Emirate diplomat.
Afghan Consular General Hafiz Mohibullah insisted the IEA had not banned women's education in Afghanistan.
The postponement was aimed at reforming the educational system and syllabus,” the consul-general told a seminar in Peshawar.
The Institute of Regional Studies (IRS), an independent research organisation, organised the seminar on “The Concept of Higher Education for Women in Islam”.
Mohibullah said Afghanistan had suffered for decades due to invasions by the former Soviet Union and the United States.
