Heavy snowfall cuts off Daikundi from Kabul, Bamyan

NEILI (Pajhwok): Heavy snowfall and storms have cut off central Daikundi province from Bamyan and Kabul provinces and all its districts from the provincial capital, Neili, a public works official said on Thursday.

Lal Mohammad Yusafi, acting director of Daikundi Public Works, told Pajhwok that heavy snowfall had clogged the road connecting Daikundi with Bamyan at Kotal Qonaq area since last night.

Roads between districts and the provincial capital have also been blocked due to heavy snowfall and storms, he added.

He added there was currently a strong storm and it was not possible to clear the roads from snow.

He also said flying coach was overturned by strong winds in the Kotal Qonaq area, but its occupants were rescued.

He asked drivers and passengers not to travel on this route until further notice.

A few days ago, heavy snowfall blocked Daikondi's roads, but then they were reopened for traffic.
