MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): A kidnapper has been killed by security forces in the capital city of northern Balkh province, police official said on Monday.
Police spokesman Mohammad Asif Waziri said two kidnappers wanted to abduct an individual in limits of 10th police district of Mazar-i-Sharif on Sunday night at around 7:00pm.
He said one kidnapper gunned down by security forces and the other injured before managing to flee the area, however, security forces had launched a manhunt to arrest him.
Few days ago, the Ministry of Interior said 120 cases of kidnapping have been recorded in the country last year.
