Panjsher: Avalanches shut roads in districts

PARAKH (Pajhwok): Recent snowfall and avalanches have closed roads leading to two districts of central Panjsher province, an official said on Thursday.

Director of Information and Culture Maulvi Nasrullah Malakzada said the heavy snowfall and avalanches caused no casualties but closed roads in Pariyan and Abshar districts.

He said teams had reached the affected areas but were unable to clear the roads.

Meanwhile, Hamidullah, a resident of the Chamtal village of Pariyan, told Pajhwok Afghan News they wanted the government to send more teams to clear the roads.
