Essential items prices stable in Kabul, afghani slightly dips

KABUL (Pajhwok): The prices of essential daily-use items remained unchanged, but the afghani lost some value against the US dollar during the outgoing week in Kabul.

Fuel prices unchanged

A worker of the Ahmadyar Group of Pump Stations said the price of one litre of petrol stayed unchanged at 70afs and diesel at 86afs.

Mohammad Sharif, a liquefied gas seller in Kalola Pushta locality, said the price of one kilogram of the commodity was 70afs, the same price as last week’s.

Food items prices also unchanged

Zmarai Safi, head of the Food Traders Association, told Pajhwok Afghan News the price of a 49-kilogram bag of Kazakh flour stayed stable at 2,150afs, 24.5-kilogram bag of Pakistani rice at 3,000afs, a 16-litre bottle of Malaysian cooking oil at 1,800afs, a 49-kilogram bag of Indian sugar at 2,750afs, one kilogram of African black tea at 400afs and the same amount of Indonesian green tea at 350afs.

Gold rates also stable as last week

Mohammad Fawad, a jeweler in Timor Shahi market, said the price of one gram of Arabian gold stood at 4,4,00afs and the Russian variety at 3,500afs.

Haji Hussain, owner of the Sadaqat Money Exchange Service, said one US dollar traded at 89.20afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees at 325afs.

Last week, one US dollar was accounted for 89afs and 1,000 Pakistani rupees for 330afs.
