MAZAR-I-SHARIF (Pajhwok): The municipality in northern Balkh province says it has collected 240 million afghanis more revenue than the target.
Maulvi Naqibullah Tariq, mayor of Mazar-i-Sharif, told a press conference that they had estimated to collect 512 million afghanis, but they collected 752 million.
He said fight against corruption and professionalism of employees were main factors behind the increase in revenue.
The mayor said they executed 21 community projects at a cost of 175 million afghanis in different areas, and 24 more such projects would be carried out next year.
