TIRINKOT (Pajhwok): For the first time in two decades, passenger buses have started plying the Uruzgan-Kandahar highway, an official said on Wednesday.
A private transport company named Rahman Baba launched its bus service after the government repaired damaged parts of the 170-km road.
Uruzgan governor’s spokesman Ihsanullah Hamas told Pajhwok it was the first time in the past two decades that large passenger vehicles had started plying the road. He called the bus service cheaper and comfortable compared to small vehicles.
He said currently only one transport company Rahman Baba had evinced interest in initiating the bus . . .
