Construction work on key road begins in Kabul

KABUL (Pajhwok): Construction work on the first phase of the road in front of the Chehal Satoon palace in the seventh security district of Kabul has been launched, the Kabul municipality says.

The municipality wrote on its Twitter page the 345-meter long and 30 meters wide road would take six months to complete at a cost of 32 million afghanis.

The road would have footpaths, drainage system, flower pots and electricity and lighting system, the municipality said, adding the project would cost 32 million afghanis to be paid from the municipality budget.

The municipality said the road was important from economic point of view and its construction would facilitate residents and improve air quality.
