MAIMANA (Pajhwok): Nearly 70 goats and sheep of a shepherd murdered three days back near the provincial capital of northern Faryab province have been recovered from two children.
According to reports, armed thieves killed an elderly shepherd in the Pashtunkot district three days ago and took away his 76 animals.
Mufti Mohammad Ismail Forqani, manager of combating criminal offences, said the stolen animals were recovered from two children aged seven and nine years.
According to him, seven of the 76 animals were still missing.
An intelligence official on the condition of anonymity told Pajhwok Afghan News that robbers murdered shepherd, Abdul Ahad, a resident of Balochshah Nadir village three days ago and stole his 76 goats and sheep.
As the children entered Maimana with the animals late yesterday, personnel of the Rapid Response Unit (RRU) of the Intelligence Department arrested them and currently both the kids and their father were under investigation, the source explained.
The children named Saddam Hussain and Ziaulhaq, residents of Damqul area of Maimana city, told their investigators that two persons gave them 150 afghanis in Katakum area, six kilometers away from the city, to pass the cattle from the security post.
