MAHMOODRAQI (Pajhwok): A group of four fraudsters involved in duping people into illegal payments has been busted in central Kapisa province, police said on Tuesday.
Abdul Fatah Fayez, Kapisa police spokesman, said the con men posed as customer service officials of telecom companies and phoned individuals to cheat them out of money.
Fayez said: “The detainees using digital telephone called individuals to tell them they have won gold sets or cars. They asked people for money to be able to open codes.”
The cheaters asked a person from Bamyan province to come to Kapisa to collect his prize, Fayez rebealed . . .
